In the third quarter of 2024, the art and design category on the Android platform in Africa witnessed diverse performance trends among the top five applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Canva: Design, Art & AI Editor saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 298K in the final week of September. Revenue trends were relatively stable, with a peak of around $16.9K in the last week. Active users also surged, reaching over 1M by the end of the quarter.

Future Self Face Aging Changer experienced a remarkable growth in downloads, starting at just 187 in early July and reaching over 35K by the end of September. Although revenue remained modest, there was a noticeable increase towards the end of the quarter, with weekly active users also showing an upward trend, peaking at about 87K.

The AI Photo Editor: BG Remover app had a strong start with downloads peaking at 36K in late July and early August. However, there was a decline later in the quarter, with downloads dropping to around 2.4K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar trend, starting strong and then experiencing a decline.

Castle - Make and Pla‪y displayed a varied performance with downloads initially decreasing but later recovering to peak at 34K at the beginning of September. Active users mirrored this pattern, showing a significant increase in August and September, before tapering off towards the quarter's end.

Lastly, Genius: AI Photo Generator showed a late surge in popularity, with downloads skyrocketing from negligible numbers to nearly 124K by the end of September. Active users also saw a substantial rise, ending the quarter at over 107K.
